In honor of this week's episode on cute pets and diapers, I had to post one of my own! Meet Bammy - one of four puppies that my dog, Mochi had a couple years ago (the puppies are all grown up now!). We think that they are a mix between a pomeranian and poodle (Pommi-poo), but then one of the puppies turned out to look just like a chihuahua, so we concluded that they are a mix of all sorts of mutts.

Here's a photo of all the puppies together. They're about a week old and hadn't even opened their eyes yet.

And about a month old....so cute!

Fun with Spore!

Yesterday, I played around with the Spore Creature Creator. I had a blast with it. The Spore Creature Creator is a very small part of the full game Spore coming out this September. The Creature Creator is pretty much just what it sounds like. You start off with what looks like an odd shaped piece of play-doh, you pull and squish this until you are happy with the shape. Then you have 228 flexible parts to add to your creature. Depending on where and how many appendages you put on, will determine how your creature walks, eats, all sorts of stuff. After that you get to ''paint" your creature. This means adding colors and patterns. For such a small little section of a game you have a lot of options. Head over to the Spore website and download the demo. I think you'll dig it :)

I'd like to introduce you to a special little girl named Hope. She's a Maltese puppy from Tennessee, but she's not your average Maltese. What makes Hope so special is that she was born without her front legs! She doesn't let this get in her way of having a good time though. With the help of an orthotist who constructed a prosthetic set of legs using the wheels from a model airplane, Hope can move herself around faster than ever! Hi, my name is Naomi. I'm currently residing in Long Island and I live for cute. I have been known to explode into a cloud of confetti after witnessing the cuteness of kittens, pandas and baby hedgies. My favorite animal is the panda. My pet of choice is the ever popular kitten and/or hedgehog. My favorite animal movie is Milo and Otis if you haven't seen it go watch it right now! For almost a year now, writer and blogger Shreve Stockton has been posting daily pictures of a young coyote, Charlie, who she cares for in a small town in Wyoming.

Charlie is a wild-born coyote who was unexpectedly delivered to my doorstep this past April after both his parents were shot for killing sheep. Whatever reservations I had about raising a wild animal simply didn't matter - couldn't matter - when I realized his survival, at least in the short term, depended on me.

A few weeks ago, we announced a contest based around the viral sensation "Kitty Cat Dance" by Steve Ibsen.

The Challenge? Take the MP3 we've provided of the song (click here to download), and use it to create your own awesome remix of the song with your own footage. The winner will be featured in an upcoming Ultra Kawaii Special, and also receive the prize of their choice from the Ultra Kawaii Store.

Now, PETA might be mad at me for digging this site, but the more I look at it, the more I like it. Interview with Steve Ibsen, Kitty Cat Dance creator

UK: What was your inspiration for the video? How did it come about?

Steve: I was a senior in high school and I had just bought a digital camera for a photography class I was in, and the morning before school I was playing with my camera when my cat, Kayla, started doing her usual routine of stretching on her back on my bed. So i took a bunch of pictures of her standing over her then ran off to school. Then in class I was scrolling through the pictures on my camera and I realized that if I jumped back and forth between pictures, it kind of looked like she was dancing which definitely cracked me up.

UK: So from there you wrote the song?

Steve: When I got home, I loaded all the pictures onto my computer and whipped out my guitar and started singing the exact words for the kitty cat dance, wrote them down, then recorded the song on my 4-track pretty much laughing the entire time, then I just made a quick video and slapped it on my website!

UK: How do you feel about the explosion of popularity the video has had?

Steve: I don't know if the kitty cat dance is explosively popular, haha. It is really funny though to be walking down the street and see a little girl singing and dancing the kitty cat dance. I'm glad people enjoy it, it's great to see people laugh.

UK: What are you working on now? Any plans for a sequel?

Steve: I'm actually getting a degree at the Art Institute of Seattle for media arts and animation right now. I've worked on a lot of stuff since then, some of my own creations and a few jobs for companies. And yea actually I did come up with an idea for a sequel to the Kitty Cat Dance, I'm just so involved in school and work right now that its been hard to find the time to put it together, but at some point there will be a sequel to the Kitty Cat Dance!

While at the book store earlier this week, I glanced at the animal section of the store. One book jumped off the shelves at me, it was by Rachael Hale. Tachael Hale has some great books under her belt, and in the world of Kawaii photos, she is a MASTER. The book in question is titled "Snog, A Puppy's Guide to Love" and from just a simple look at the cover, you can see why I liked it.
